Always good fun. I've been going to Maui for many yrs and have the pleasure of eating at Bubba Gump many times since it has opened. We find the atmosphere fun and the help is always there to make it a good dining experience. Also if you happen to be there in January around the time of the opening PGA event, you will more than likely dine with several of the players. Very relaxed and always fun.

This "Forrest Gump" theme restaurant serves up shrimp and movie memorabilia nationwide.. In Short
With its distressed-wood bar and framed "Gump"-isms, this franchise is teaming with kitschy fun. Chock-full of movie memorabilia, framed still images from the film line the walls while Depression-era props perch on shelves. Expect a piped-in, good-time vibe: Smiling servers quiz diners on movie trivia. Popcorn shrimp, peel-and-eat shrimp, shrimp po' boys--practically every preparation Bubba ever conceived is available in huge portions for not much money.

Ask for Charlie. Charlie is the best bartender on Maui. Tell him Jim from Philly said hello. Sit at the bar and eat, instead of waiting in that dreadful line.

So-so. It is definitely the ambience and memorabilia that make people stand in line for close to an hour (or at least that's what it feels like) to eat at this restaurant. The food was only so-so, a tad bit pricey but it was to be expected. The Bubba Gump glass I got to take with me was kinda cool, but I definitely paid for it. Great to visit, though, at least once.
