A secluded, elegant country inn.. The Scene
Terraced down a hillside, this hotel overlooks the blue crescent of Hulopoe Bay, a marine preserve where dolphins often frolic. The designers of this luxury property have used a bit of the flora and fauna of Old Hawaii, the terra-cotta tones of the Mediterranean and Asian-style double-hip roofs to create an elegant cosmopolitan flair.

The buildings are surrounded by five lavish "theme" gardens that range from Hawaiian to bromeliad. Attention to detail embraces custom-designed Italian chandeliers, Mediterranean bow-front railings and original artwork. The guest rooms are larger than average, with bathrooms big enough to waltz in and plenty of closet space. If you can afford it, the butler suites are remarkably spacious and come with the services of a full-time butler; you'll never be without a pot of coffee, a chilled bottle of water or a tray of fresh fruit. The hotel offers one of the most magnificent beaches in Hawaii. You can also enjoy a freshwater pool, tennis courts, a spa and a host of cultural activities.
