My Land Rover is There Now.
by chriswesten
My car is there now. I took it there cause I wanted to try their shop out. My uncle was the service manager for a Land Rover Dealership for 27 years. Pacific Motorworks quoted whatever it would be for parts(it is always nightmarishly expensive to get parts from a mechanic). So I called my uncle and he found the parts for alot less. I called the shop and they agreed to put the parts on so the parts are being shipped as we speak.
I will call my uncle and see what the labour is for a Radiator, thermostat, and hose. And will report back here with my findings. But so far I could not be more impressed.
The diagnosed the vehicle the same day it was towed there. It was towed very late in the day there as well. So I was not expecting them to get to it. I am buying another Land Rover soon and if these guys pass the test with me and my uncle I will be back.
So far VERY IMPRESSED.
- Pros: ????????????
- Cons: ????????????
One of the Worst Decisions I Have Ever Made, and I've made a lot
by paiaresident
I urge everyone who reads this review to understand I am an honest 23 year old mother, born and raised in Hawaii. I have never been so dissatisfied with a mechanic in my life. Pacific Motor Works in Kula has had my car for 20 days now. My family and I only have that one car! The place estimated we would have our car back in less than a week, but it's far past that now. They have also since tacked on tons of $ to the price we agreed upon. We will now end up paying half what our car is worth! Not to mention the inconvenience of having no car for 3 weeks. I chose this shop because they said the problem was simple, whereas Auto Tech in Wailuku said it could be much worse. I figured Auto Tech was trying to rip me off. It turned out to be the complete opposite. Pacific Motor Works totally underestimated the job. I should've gone to Auto Tech! Kudos to all of you who check reviews first. I wish I had.
- Pros: none
- Cons: slow, expensive, unreliable estimates
