Great food Ocen Front. This is one of the best dining experiences on Maui. Located on one of south Maui's finest beaches, the atmosphere cannot get any better and the food is great.

Disappointed Wedding Party-DO NOT RECOMMEND. We decided to elope at the last minute due to weather conditions on the North Shore...our wedding party was about 15 people. We were originally scheduled to eat at Mama's Fish House, which would have been worth every cent in retrospect. We were guaranteed that our service, food, and dining experience would be exceptional under the circumstances. It was NOT. We were seated to the right of the entry area with very limited views of the ocean sunset. Our location had no air flowing, so we were HOT! It was very noisy, and poorly attended by our waiter, who was not busy. In fact, the restaurant wasn't even close to being full. We had one waiter to 15 people...you do the math. My wedding party was doubling up on ordering drinks because the service was so slow. The wait was unacceptable, service POOR, food cold and not good for what Sorrento's places its signature on. I emphasized that it was our wedding and we wanted it to be the very best experience for everyone attending. We were so disappointed in choosing Sorrento's, and would NOT recommend Sorrento's again, especially to any wedding party that would expect nothing but the very best on their Wedding Day. We live in Maui, and our guests visiting from all over the world were very disappointed. When we closed our bill out, we were told that parties 6 and more were automatically charged a 20% gratuity. This explains the lack of service...no incentive when they are guaranteed this kind of gratuity. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that I would have to call the following day since they did NOT have a manager on site. WOW! If that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. Well, we were leaving for our honeymoon, and really didn't make time until now to complain. We thought you all have a right to know how Sorrento's treats their patrons. We did complain, but have not been acknowledged or appeased for our very disappointing experience. Mama's Fish House is ALWAYS the way to go...Aloha!

Not recommened. I went there on a very special occasion, my boyfriends 50th birthday. The "special table" they put us at is the one by the gate, where practically all restaurant goers flood through at sunset time. The traffic, and the noise was disturbing. I guess if we had not specifically requested to sit in a quiet romantic area it would not have been so bad. Fish was over cooked, they never bothered with and complimentary anything, not even a candle in a scoop of ice cream. Waiter was like a robot, reciting the specials in a monotone voice. Enough with filling the glass of water for every sip you take. So for the price and the lack of service and not so good food I give it a one star rating.

Many better places to eat in Wailea. We were there 11-09 at the recommendation of friends who had been there several years before. The location is nice enough, right on the beach with the sounds of the surf as you are eating. The downside is that Sorrent's is only open for dinner so you really can't see anything of the surf and sea. There is meager parking there and they have everyone park by valet. This is aso OK since the only charge is a tip.

We had reservations so we were seated quickly and handed off to a waiter who brought us a wine list. The wine list is HUGE and filled with 90% Italian wine that you have never heard of and were ridiculously priced. I mean really, they had wines going for upwards of $3200/bottle!!! An average pice for these Italian wines was above $50 per bottle. They had a few (I mean few) Napa and Sonoma/California wines that were overly priced and I had only heard of 3-4 wines on their list (and I live in Sonoma/California). We finally picked an average Mondavi wine and it was over $50/bottle!! That wine list was by far the worse wine list I had ever encountered.

We were passed off onto another waiter who explained the specials. He became pretty snotty when my wife ordered one of the specials and asked if it came with anything (like potatoes, noodles, rice, etc). I ordered a clam linguine. Her's came pretty much ugly and inedible, mine came with a heavy sauce that reminded me of mucus. The waiter did not care when we complained. Her inedible special was $42.

This restaurant is operpriced (even for Hawaii) and over-hyped. I would not go there again. We had a much better dinner at Joe's.

Outstanding. We recently tried Sarento's for the first time and were very impressed. It's a fairly expensive restaurant, but worth the price. The service was outstanding - they took our drink orders right away and had bread and water on the table within two minutes of us sitting down. The portions were decent sized and the quality of food was delicious. I highly recommend the profiteroles for dessert. We were encouraged to take our time and enjoy the evening which we did - thoroughly.

Disappointing...... Unfortunately it was a very disappointing birthday dinner experience. The service was poor - a long wait before we were asked about our wine order, specific food allergies ignored, server broke a glass of water at our table, steak not cooked as requested, and overall a very rushed feeling with service. The salmon appetizer would have been delicious if only the chips were crisp. They were soggy. Although the steak was overcooked, it was well seasoned and tasty which was a plus. The veal dish my husband ordered was fine. Not a memorable meal for the prices charged = won't be back anytime soon....

Great food and great service for a special night. In September of 2003 we got married on the North Shore earlier in the day, stopped by Mama's Fish House for a drink (which was nice), and then headed to Sorento's for dinner. I had made reservations and even had a special passionfruit cheesecake delivered to Sorento's for our dessert (they were very accommodating). We were greeted warmly and immediately seated outside on the patio with a spectacular view of the ocean. The service was excellent throughout the evening as well as the food, it was awesome! The staff did a great job of giving us privacy while being available at an instant. I recommend to anyone to give Sorento's a try, you won't be sorry.

lost my appetite. Because we were staying at the adjoining hotel, the Best Western, we tried Sorento's just for dessert. After waiting 20 minutes to be handed menus, and being read the entree menu even when we'd said we just wanted dessert. The team server approach had some kinks, because we never knew who was waiting on us. It was by far the least aloha experience we've had on Maui over 2+ weeks spent there in the last year. I'd go to the Waterfront.
