Lived in these apartments with my wife for a couple years. Helen is really nice, helped us out quite a bit. I liked that our apartment was on the far end, away from the center of the complex. Also we had an adult only unit, with no kids around which was a plus. Quick on replacing our broken fridge and garbage disposal. Clean your apartment thoroughly when you move out, if you expect a deposit back. We got ours in full. The owner is a little intrusive, but has good intentions I believe. Great location, we recommend.

I had to relocate my family to Maui when I was transfered. We're originally from Seattle and new absolutely no one on island. The office staff not only made us feel welcome but made our move in process extremely smooth and easy.

Sadly we had to move back to Seattle after a year, but our overall experience here has been wonderful. After my term is over, we are seriously thinking about moving back to Maui and Piilani Gardens will be the first place well go!

Do not rent here if you value your privacy and a peaceful environment with civilized neighbors.

The maintenance crew is first class, but that is about all. The rental agreement spells out all the tenant rules. They seem adequate at first glance until after you are renting and realize that they are not enforced. Whether you stay or go is of no concern to the management.

In fact the turnover is so high and the amount of the security deposit returned so low at these apartments that management is making money from the constant turnover of unhappy tenants. The traffic noise is almost constant and the landscaping crew is always running their power equipment 7 days a week.

The apartments are impossible to keep clean. The front office will tell you that it is the sugar cane burning, but this is not the case. The incessant leaf blowing and landscaping plus the trade winds constantly blow dirt into the apartments.

If you already rent there and are going to leave, hold back the last month’s rent if you expect to get any of your security deposit back. If the management has all your money, you have no bargaining power. Mahalo

My family and I recently moved to Piilani Gardens apartments in Kihei and I wanted to take the time to say how thankful I am we made this choice!

The office staff there were so helpful to us, They went out of there way to make sure all of our needs were met and they did it all with a smile on there face. The grounds are so lush and beautiful and clean oh my gosh are they clean! It truely is a wonderful place very family oriented and very safe.

Our appartment is beautiful, spacious and very clean all the appliances work correctly and there are no bugs( and we all know how hard that is to find here on Maui)

We feel lucky to to live here!

I stayed at Piilani Gardens for 18 months, and it was a very positive experience. The location was excellent, the people had the aloha spirit, and the grounds were beautiful. The apartment was in good condition when I moved in and required very little upkeep. The apartment

complex has solar power, so the electricity bills are low. The apartment rent was competitive with the few other complexes in the area. There is child care on the premises. Also, the apartments are across the street from a supermarket, and are next to the community pool, which are nice features. Overall, it's about as good as it gets for rental apartments.

We stayed at Piilani Gardens, leaving in August 2011 to return to California. Most well-kept garden apartments I've ever experienced, with inspiring island landscaping. Fellow residents and we had ample privacy because of the building layouts and the landscaping. All very beautiful and quiet, and quite safe feeling. I attribute some of these positives to two simple features: 1. the frequent physical presence of the managing owner on the premises, assuring attention to details and being familiar with the tenants personally; and 2. the interesting, and refreshing, structure of the units that include the option to lock the front door by a recessed screened security gate that allows complete breeze air flow through the unit, visual view of the grounds and hearing of all sounds in the immediate vicinity -- perfect for enjoying the island beauty while providing a neighborhood feel (within a few days of arriving I had already met and chatted friendily with quite a few neighbors), and which incidentally self-monitors the property night and day, and whether the resident is in or away from the apartment.

Everything clean and functional, and the management immediately attending to any of the few requests we made for equipment adjustments.

Location perfect: shopping, banking, restaurants, beach all either across the street or within 3 blocks. The new bike path coming in across the street will be an added plus.

Great Place. I am shocked to read the recent review for Piilani Garden Apartments. If I had not moved to California, I would still be living there. I loved the location and the staff were most helpful. I always felt safe and would recommend living there to my friends & family.

Wonderful place to live. I have lived at Piilani for 6 years. It is wonderful..

I am shocked to see any negatives written about this property.

The staff keeps the place clean, safe and beautiful.

I asked staff about the negatives and found out they came from people who had been EVICTED.

The staff does not tolerate drugs,etc .

I feel very safe and happy here.

Thank you PIILANI GARDENS for giving me and my family a wonderful home.

living..laughing & loving..this is what you call a home. I love every minute i been having here. I dont think there are words to experss myself. My family loves it here. We have the aquatic right here. My youngest daughter goes to the day care right here on property. LOVE IT.

The friendly staff is wounderful. The landscapers are hard workers. The maintenance man is an AWSOME guy. He gets all my things fixed all my problems when i had any. The ladies in the office are the best they help me with everything i need.

well i hope who ever reads the negative comments dont believe any of it ok...you should come & check out the lovely property for yourself before you judge them but other peoples comments. Reall you should give it a shot.ok....may be youll be my neighbor..xoxoxoxox

Piilani Gardens is safe!. I must say that I can't believe the untruths being said of Piilani Garden Apartments. I have lived here 2yrs 3 months and I feel very safe. I walk my babies in the evenings and don't have to look over my shoulder.

I asked my dear friend to consider Piilani Gardens as she comes to visit me and always makes a comment on how clean and green the grounds look.

She did a search and she called me to tell me that Piilani Gardens had some bad reviews and I was shocked!

I know there are people that don't pay their rent and some people are never satified no matter what you do for them. I personally get all fix it issues done and have even had my dishwasher replaced.

It is very sad that some people have nothing good to say when they live in an apartment. Those people need to rent a house as apartment living is very different. It's called community living.

And of course they would say that staff is placing the good reviews....All I can say is I am not staff and here is my review.

Great place for family to live. Grounds are kept beautiful, and staff is great.
