Our friends go there for happy hour specials several times a week. Raul is owner and chef . He has 2 other places on the island of Maui. We have now been to all three. We enjoy each different style.
A great accommodating kitchen. Crab legs were delicious. Food was good here at R B Black Angus Steak House.
Despite the mixed reviews online, I trusted several locals suggestion and tried RB Black Angus Steakhouse. My spouse , granddauther and I sat at the sushi bar and had a fantastic meal served by the owner. Although he claims not to be a formally trained sushi chef he prepared some outstanding rolls and sushi favorites. Between the 3 of us we tried most of the rolls on the sushi menu. All were wonderful. The only item which was just OK was the Ahi Poki, it was good but not exceptional. The RB Special roll was our favorite, even of my 10 year old granddaughter, who can be very finicky loved it. Although a 10 year old may not have the most discerning palate she knows what she likes and we all agreed.
Every steak & seafood dish was fabulous, and desert, wow the best créme brulee outside of France!
Appetizers were pretty good. Bruschetta at $11 for 4 pieces was pricey but really really good. Onion rings were light and tasty.
The service was great! Our waitress, Catherine, was wonderfully attentive to us, especially to the needs of our kids. She was fantastic with them and anticipated our needs. Could not have been better!
This was the BEST meal we had during our recent 9 day stay on Maui! Everything about our meal deserves 5 stars. For starters, the Crispy California Roll was amazing - we debated ordering a second one because it was so good! The menu offered a good selection of items, at a wide range of prices (a little on the high side). My husband and I both ordered the nightly 3 course dinner special. He had the steak and I had the stuffed pork chop. Both were wonderful! They were both tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were tasty as well. The pineapple upside down cake melted in your mouth! We were dining with our 2 kids and their meals were tasty as well. The kids menu offered a pretty decent selection of items, including steaks and homemade mac and cheese.
I wouldn't expect to go to a restaurant called Black Angus Steakhouse and get anything other than some quality steak. After looking at some of the prices I decided to go with the crunchy spider roll and it happened to be amazing. The waitress was a bit goofy, but nice. Since I got something a bit lighter for the meal I was actually able to save room for some dessert, the pineapple upside down cake was sweet and delicious...totally hit the spot
As a local I try to find great food for a descent price. This place is perfect. The server went above and beyond with my two crazy kids. Thanks for making our dinning evening wonderful . a+
